Picota of Jerte is exported to three new countries: Denmark, Estonia and Brazil.
The Picota of Jerte is one of the most appreciated cherries on foreign markets.
During the Gourmet trade fair which was held in Madrid, the general Director of Trade of the Extremadura region said the Picota of Jerte DOP conquered new markets: Denmark, Estonia and Brazil.
Cherries "Valle del Jerte" represent about half of Spanish cherries exported last year. The production totaled 12 millon pounds worth € 27 millon.
