Larger producing areas in La Libertad, Lambayeque and Ica supported the increase.
Peru’s blueberry production increased 23.7% year on year between January and June 2026, according to the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI).
The ministry attributed the growth to a larger area entering production in La Libertad, Lambayeque and Ica.
Blueberries also maintained strong growth at the end of the period. Output in June alone was 28.3% higher than a year earlier, driven by production in Ica, Áncash and Lima.
Overall, Peru’s agricultural subsector grew 0.8% during the first six months of the year, while the wider agricultural and livestock sector expanded 1.2%.
