The volume of Indian grapes exported is higher than expected

At the start of the export season, Indian professionals feared a slowdown in volumes shipped to Europe, but the results from December 2022 to April 2023 are very satisfactory.
According to local media, for the 2022-23 season India's grape exports to Europe till April 10 reached 7,932 containers (15 tons of grapes), or 118,980 tons. This represents a variation of +4.01% in the number of containers compared to the 7,626 shipped during the same period last season.
At the start of the season, Indian professionals feared that European demand, impacted by the economic crisis, would be below normal, and predicted a variation of -10 to -15% in volumes.
Countries in Europe (EU, UK) are the main destination for Indian grapes in terms of quantity and monetary value. In the 2021-22 season, Indian grape exports totaled a turnover of USD 305 million.
