Banana and plantain exports from Peru surpass $49 million until May

Between January and May 2023, banana and plantain exports from Peru declined both in volume and value, if compared to the same term in 2022, informs Agrodata Perú.
During the first 5 months of the ongoing year, the country exported 65.051.202 kilos of said fruits, worth $49.217.587.
In the same lapse of 2022, Peru shipped 81.007.972 kilos of bananas and plantains, worth $59.384.308.
The main destinations through May 2023 were the Netherlands (30% of total value), Belgium (14%), the United States (13%), Panama (12%), Italy (8%) Korea (6%), Japan (5%), and Germany (5%), among others.
