The Swiss Association of fruits, vegetables and potatoes business, Swisscofel, has increased from 42 to 170 members in ten years.
The Swiss Association of fruits, vegetables and potatoes business, Swisscofel, has increased from 42 to 170 members with a volume of 4 billion franc business.
During its last general assembly, Swisscofel drew up the balance sheet of the last 10 years.
" Swisscofel is an almost unique network to the world ", said Jacques Blondin, Manager of the truck-farming Union of Geneva, and specified that, more than a trade association, the association serves as platform of communication, as meetings and especially as negotiations.
The association includes many partners: producers (truck farmers, arboriculturists, producers of potatoes), storekeepers and importers, the industry, distributors and the HORECA sector (hotels, restaurant owners and canteens).
The members were informed about the implementation of SwissGAP. The procedure of accreditation was successfully finished by the Swiss authority SAS.
Many themes were approached during this meeting (labor law, treaty of free exchange)... The balance sheet of its 10 years is positive and the organization remains dynamic.
