The European Union is the fourth most important market, with 2,989 tons exported between January and September 2024, representing a 202% increase compared to the previous year. This market also pays a higher average price, reaching USD 4.94 per kilogram.
However, the highest price is obtained in Hong Kong, where, despite representing only 2.62% of exports, buyers pay an average of USD 7.56 per kilogram. Local experts estimate that Ecuadorian dragon fruit exports could reach USD 200 million in 2024, establishing it as one of the top five most important products in the country's agro-export sector.
