Since 2001, the Latin American Avocado Congress has been held every 4 years in different countries. This year, the City of Antigua Guatemala will host its sixth edition from November 9 to 12 at Hotel Casa Santo Domingo.
More than 300 people will participate in the event, including Guatemalan and international producers, exporters, marketers, and experts, who will present the results and innovations related to avocado cultivation in Latin America.
In addition, they will address the issues of avocado varieties, genetic improvement, propagation, crop management, soil management, nutrition, physiology, entomology, post-harvest, industrialization, phytosanitary, among others; plus field visits to farms that produce and pack the fruit.
According to the President of the Organizing Committee of the Latin American Avocado Congress, Andrés Espinoza
The Congress is dedicated to professionals who seek to strengthen their knowledge on topics such as export and production of quality avocado, or to obtain a contact base with specialists dedicated to the commercialization of the fruit in Guatemala.
