FEDEMCO2-data : the calculator of the Carbon Footprint of wood packaging

The tool 'FEDEMCO2-data ', a new calculator of the Carbon Footprint for the Fruit & Vegetable wooden packaging was presented to ITENE (Packaging Technology Institute of Transport and Logistics) at a day dedicated to "environmental positioning of wooden packaging: new tools and opportunities" organized by FEDEMCO in collaboration with ITENE.

The 2 structures have presented the results of their collaboration: the tool "FEDEMCO2-data ', a new calculator of the Carbon Footprint for wood packaging, processing throughout the lifecycle of the product.

Trénor Fernando, director of FEDEMCO, stressed that "the wood is an opportunity to reduce the carbon footprint of organizations."

For its part, Mercedes Hortal, responsible for sustainable development to ITENE, defended the importance of these initiatives, saying "they are very useful to know the consumer, the impact, reduce costs and improve the reputation, while differentiating ".
