SATI (South African Table Grape Industry) expects the season to end around 2 weeks earlier than in 2023 (week 14). The total volume already exported is higher than last season.
The industry is currently in the final phase of its packing season. Up to week 08, a total of 68.9 million cartons (4.5kg equivalent) had been inspected for export, up 18% on the same date last season. Up to week 08, a total of 57.1 million cartons (4.5kg equivalent) had been exported, up 19% on the same date last season.
SATI points out that the national harvest estimate of 75.8 million cartons (4.5kg equivalent) inspected for export will probably not be reached. The final volume is expected to be around 73.5 million cartons (4.5kg equivalent) inspected for export.
