Ipsos survey forecasts Europeans will buy more fruits & veg

Ipsos , statistics specialist has released its second wave of "Ipsos Economic Crisis Monitor". This survey has been realised in january , in 5 countries including Spain, Italy, France, Germany and UK.
The survey show that European consummers took their decision to modify a little or a lot their buying comportments. This is "a lot" for Italians and French: 79 % of interviewees. While the figures reach 77% in USA , 72% in UK, % in Spain and "a little" in Germany with "only" 44%.
"Rahter than a stop in consumption, the survey demonstrates that Europeans operate a change in the way they consume. Crisis plays like a trends accelerator " states Joachim Stoetard from Ipsos.
French like other European and American also, announce that they intend to buy more frequently private labels and first prices products than before. This in diminution of branded products.
In this environment, some products show real opportunities. Three categories of products are plebiscited:
sustainable products, organic products and... fruits & vegetables.
"This reveals a will to come back to essential values. European want to cook more meals than before and consume less ready-meals."
Fruit & vegetable industry will take advantage of these changes, without any doubt !
