According to the latest harvest estimates, PIPFRUIT NEW ZEALAND forecasts a record production of 584,000 tonnes this year. The previous record was 560,000 tonnes in 2004.
The climatic conditions have made it possible to obtain a very high quality for this 2017 production, an exceptional coloring and beautiful calibres.
All regions of the country will see an increase in their harvests, either by the introduction of new orchards or by the restoration of orchards affected by hail last season. Another satisfaction for this record crop, productivity gains are indisputable. The 2017 harvest comes from 9,500 hectares of cultivated land, the 2004 harvest came from 13,500 hectares.
