India is forecasting an increase in its grape exports, particularly to Europe and China.
Increased production and sustained external demand will increase Indian grapes exports by 15 to 20%.
According to Indian professionals, exports to Europe and China will increase by 15 to 20% this season. Already 7,000 containers were shipped to Europe (6,200 at the same time last year). Exports to China, where the market opened last year, the growth in the number of containers reached 20 to 25%.
The Ministry of Agriculture estimates for 2016-17 the production of grapes to 2.64 million tons, the previous season production totaled 2.59 million tons.
