Until week 5 of the 2022/23 season (January 29), Peru exported 164,985 tons of mangoes, which is 7% higher than the 154,216 tons shipped in the same period of the 2021/22 season, according to the Peruvian Association of Producers and Exporters of Mango (APEM).
The source points out that Europe received 46.2% of the total shipments (76,217 T), with the Netherlands, Germany and Spain being the largest recipients.
In second place was the United States, which received 44% of the total, growing 45.6% (72,714 T) compared to the 2021/22 campaign.
Canada set in third place, buying 6,941 tons of fruit since the start of the season.
Frozen mango shipments in the analyzed period totaled 16,932 tons, falling -13.74% compared to the 19,629 tons shipped in the same period of the previous campaign.
