Georgian citrus sales paces skid down
Based on the recent information, sales rates of citrus produced in Georgia could slide down despite predicted this season high yield. Due to 82% of citrus export volumes orientation to Ukraine, complicated political and economical situation could dramatically affect demand for Georgian citrus within domestic fruits market of Ukraine. According to the latest information, approximately 4 000 tons of Georgian citrus were exported to Ukraine in 2014, this figure is considerably lower comparing to the previous year number. This season export volumes are predicted to be even lower. Purchasing power has significantly gone down in Ukraine, which could greatly influence sales drop of Georgian citrus in Ukraine. Basically, except Ukraine and Russia, Georgian citrus are exported to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Belorussia.
