Transcending the sector
Among its main objectives as president of FEPEX is to work in areas of great importance for the positive evolution of the sectors represented, such as the shortage of water resources, lack of manpower, phytosanitary and competition from third countries. He considers it necessary to address urgent investment plan and sense of State to provide a solution to the water situation that affects and will affect crops throughout Spain. The problem of the lack of working personnel also requires special attention, being necessary to ensure skilled labor and also address heavy investments in mechanization and automation, in fields and warehouses, for which it is necessary to claim aid and incentives, especially for small and medium-sized producers.
Shortage of water and approved phytosanitary products
He also proposes to work in Spain and the EU to solve the low productivity and crop losses in the field caused by the shortage of phytosanitary products to fight against pests and diseases. Likewise, unfair competition from third countries that are not subject to the same requirements as EU production must be addressed at a political level. At the internal level of FEPEX, Cecilio Peregrín will give priority to keep united and cohesive Associations and draw a consensus work plan to strengthen the actions developed so far.

Cecilio Peregrín succeeds Jorge F. Brotóns Campillo, who has presided FEPEX since December 2006. The Assembly thanked him for the work done during his 18 years in office, which has consolidated FEPEX as a benchmark in the agricultural sector, significantly expanding its social base with the incorporation of numerous associations.
