China fresh apple exports continue their upward climb. After a quiet 2005/06 marketing year, exports rebounded to 970,000 tons fresh in 2006/07, surpassing the previous record in 04/05 of just over 800,000t. Value has kept increasing as well and in 2006/07 total exports were valued at about US$500m or US$500/ton. Volume and price/ton have almost doubled since 2002/03, although the export price remains well below those of major competing exporters.
