BelOrta sold the 1st strawberries of the season

The 1st strawberries sold at auction BelOrta inaugurates the season which should be marketing approximately 9 million pounds of strawberries.

This first consignment consisted of 31 lots of 8 boxes of 500g. These strawberries were purchased at a price of  5.50 € per box of 500 g. Strawberries Eburon Top Selection, variety Sonata, is cultivated under heated greenhouse. "With good weather and sunny days, these first fruits could profit at most of the sun's energy, which gives these strawberries optimal taste," commented a professional.

The BelOrta auction was born from the merger of the malinois Auction, the auction Coöbra Zellik and Auction of Borgloon (Loon). It displays a turnover of over 350 million euros and is estimated to be "the largest cooperative auction in Europe."
