Dacian Ciolos, European Commissioner for Agriculture, has signed a cooperation agreement with China. The two sides expressed their confidence in the common benefits.
The European Union and China have signed a new cooperation agreement in Beijing.
Dacian Ciolos, European Commissioner for Agriculture and his counterpart Han Changfu signed a cooperation agreement on agriculture and rural development. The priority areas are food security, health security, international cooperation, respect for the environment, organic agriculture, climate change and rural development.
Agricultural cooperation between the EU and China began in 2005 and grows stronger with this agreement. The EU is the fifth Chinese agricultural supplier and 3rd largest customer.
China hopes for advanced technology from the European Union to develop modern agriculture and improve productivity. The EU wants closer cooperation to promote common development.
