Anticipation of lower volumes of apples

In Chile, harvesting of apples is in final phase and should be completed by the end of the month or early May.

According to the consultancy iQonsulting, volume of apples which will be sold between June and December will be lower by about 8% from the previous season. Exports will therefore decrease.

So far, exports were supported by a big production driven by high temperatures. Exports were 38% more than last season, reaching 200 000 tons.
