Growth for Japan's agricultural exports that benefit from the growing demand for high quality products.
For the 4th consecutive year Japan's agricultural exports increased, a performance all the more remarkable that the country's total exports decreased (-7%) due to a "strong" Yen.
In 2016 Japanese exports of agricultural, forestry and fisheries products increased by 1% to 750 billion yen (6.68 billion USD) according to government sources.
This growth observed for the 4th consecutive year could be explained by the growing demand for high quality products in Asia where the Japanese fruits have been successful. Exports of grapes rose by 50 percent to about 2.3 billion yen and exports of strawberries rose 35 percent to about 1.1 billion yen.
