After Chile gave the green light for Brazilian Tahiti limes in January 2022, Brazil has exported the first shipment of around 24,000 tons of the fruit to the Chilean market.
This shipment was carried out by the Brazilian company Be Fruit Comércio e Exportação Ltda, in association with the Brazilian Association of Producers Exporters of Fruits and Derivatives (Abrafrutas). According to Luiz Eduardo Rafaelli, the director of the company, despite the challenges to position itself in the market, Brazil is capable of reaching 50% of this market, which imported limes for 5 million dollars in 2021.
