Situation on Russian Market of Vegetables in March

The new crop onions and potatoes have started to arrive with volumes to Novorossijsk. As Dutch onions are still on 0,55 US $/kg level, the fresh Egyptian was offered on 0,54 US $/kg in the south. Potato having started from 0,69 US $/kg level in the beginning of the fourth week of March quickly went down to 0,615 US $/kg at the end. As the traders have taken some losses with low prices for tomatoes and cucumbers in the third week of March arrival in the fourth week was not large. As a result since middle of the week local cucumbers moved back to 3,50 US $/kg level, tomatoes - to 2,55 US $/kg and higher.
