Apple market awaits fixed prices

In 15 States of "old" EU and also in Czech Rep. there were by the beginning of February, still 2,4 mil. tons of stored apples!, 260 000 t. less than last year, what makes a difference of 11%. This makes a little difference, but quick sales in the past weeks speak for developing pace of prices in the next weeks. Less than 40% of showed amount falls to the Golden Delicious variety (865 000 tons), what makes it the smallest amount in the last ten years. From Granny Smith which is the variety most wanted in Russia there is still 102 000 tons in storage (8% less compared with last year). Jona Gold and Jonagored amounted in the same volume as last year, all together 355 000 tons.
