Production of 8.2 million tonnes and exports up by 30%

Fruits & Vegetables from Uzbekistan are exported to more than 70 countries.
Uzbekistan plans to produce 8 235 000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables and increase exports by 30% to 1.2 million tonnes this year.
A government publication explained that more than 99,270 hectares of land have been released from cotton and grain crops. Providing 1,320,000 hectares of land used for fruits and vegetables that will produce 8,235,000 tonnes.
Amongst the planned production: 2,478,000 tons of vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, carrots, cabbages, beetroot, garlic, peppers, peppers, aubergines, green vegetables, broccoli, etc.), 808,000 tons of potatoes, 1 010 000 tonnes of melons (melon, watermelon, pumpkin).
This planned production will increase exports by 30%. The country exported 918,085 tonnes of fruits and vegetables in 2017 worth $665.9 million and is forecasting 1,230,000 tonnes exported in 2018 for a value of $1 billion.
