Peruvian asparagus production continues to rise

Asparagus production in Peru is expected to increase by 3 percent in 2005 to 196,000 tonnes. In 2004, exports of Peruvian asparagus were approximately US$235 million, a 14 percent increase on 2003. The USA is the biggest importing country, followed by Spain and other EU countries such as France, The UK and The Netherlands.
