Expected increase of stone fruit harvest

The Extremadura region foresees greater stone fruit harvests than in the previous season

According to estimates of Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias Extremadura, the stone fruit harvest in 2013 will reach 245,510 tons, an increase of 17.99% compared to the previous year.

By category, the production of plums is estimated to 107,350 tons (+15.98%), nectarines to 84,760 tonnes (+30%), peaches to 45,400 tons (+7.11%) clingstone peaches to 8000 tons (+0.82%).

At the national level, the 2013 harvest of stone fruit will reach 1,502,097 tons, an increase of 13.48% compared to the previous season.
