Tajikistan exported 77.000 tons of fruit and vegetables for 6 months

The export of fruit and berry products for the indicated period increased by 1.152 tons or 46.7% compared to the same period last year, reported Mahmud Kodirov, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan, within the press-conference. For example, for six months, 2008, cherry export doubled and totaled 173 tons and the export of melons increased by 84.4% as compared to the same period of 2007.
According to the data of the State Department of Control, Phyto-sanitary and Quarantine of Plants at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, the total volume of the exported products from the country totaled 184.186 tons in the first half year, at that, over 34.000 tons fell to the share of dried fruit.
