FJ
A virtual fair dedicated to Medina's date to develop its trade on a global level.
The 1st online show for Madinah Date
In a few days will take place for Madinah Dates Virtual Exhibit, the virtual event which will allow importers and buyers from all over the world to access Saudi Arabia's flagship product: the date from Medina. Exceptional and unique, because considered by all Muslims as endowed with additional spiritual virtues.
A sacred fruit for Muslims
If the date is now cultivated all over the world (Africa, North and South America, Asia), its historical birthplace is the Middle East where the date has been cultivated for thousands of years. Saudi Arabia which is one of the main producers of dates is also home to the two holy places of Islam: Mecca and Medina. It was in Medina that the Prophet lived most of his life and where he cultivated date palms. Since then, all the pilgrims who go to Medina buy the local dates to bring them home. In addition to the usual nutritional benefits, these Medina dates are considered to hold additional spiritual virtues by all Muslims.
For lack of pilgrims, the date from Medina is exported
Each year the production of dates in Medina met the demand of these millions of pilgrims and was little exported. But since the health crisis, with international travel restricted, the influx of pilgrims has stopped. Also local producers now wish to develop exports, notably with Madinah Dates Virtual Exhibit, the virtual fair dedicated to the date of Medina.
