Transportation crisis between Bulgaria and Turkey
MLK
A queue of more than 10 km was formed which should last more than 5 days and Turkish trucks are rejected by the Bulgarian customs officers, under the pretext that the documents provided are not consistent.
It would be a reaction to the prohibition of the Turkish Ministry of Transport which had closed its borders to Bulgarian trucks not disposing documents of road crossing, the Bulgarian government having delivered only 5,000 instead of 250,000 required.
The trucks carry mostly perishable foodstuffs.
Problems at the border between the two countries had already taken place in late October.
