ProHass will launch a national campaign to promote domestic consumption.
ProHass announced the reinforcement of its global strategy to position Peru as a reference in Hass avocado exports and open new markets. International promotion is channeled through the World Avocado Organization in Europe and the Peruvian Avocado Commission in the USA.
Peru is the second largest producer and exporter of Hass avocado, with more than 77,000 hectares under cultivation. Fifty-seven percent of shipments go to Europe, followed by the USA (17%), Chile (10%), and China (7%).
For the 2025 season, growth of 37% is projected, after three years of adverse weather conditions and a 10% drop in 2024. Locally, domestic consumption continues to increase due to its nutritional value and use in cooking.
ProHass will launch a national campaign to promote domestic consumption. In addition, it asks producers to comply with quality standards, especially the 22% of dry matter, necessary to export fruit suitable for the consumer.
