The new body will coordinate export activities, standardise quality, and support market access for durian growers nationwide.
Myanmar is set to form a Durian Growers and Exporters Association to unify regional producers and strengthen the country’s role in the global durian trade.
The initiative will merge durian groups from Yangon, Bago, Ayeyawady, Tanintharyi, Mon, and Kayin, operating under the Myanmar Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producer and Exporter Association (MFVP).
Once formally registered with the Directorate of Investment and Company Registration, the new body will coordinate export activities, standardise quality, and support market access for durian growers nationwide.
According to MFVP Chair U Soe Than Min Din, the consolidation will improve organisation, ensure consistent standards, and enhance Myanmar’s competitiveness in international markets.
