EU fresh tomato market 2025 slightly above 5 years average

EU fresh tomato exports volumes achieved 375,000 tons during last year, slightly above 2023 export figures of 347,000 tons. EU exports for the 2024-2025 season until May 2025 show around 250,000 tons of fresh tomato, very identical to last season 2023-2024, according to Eurostat and Comext, as shown on the first graph “Cumulated exports of fresh tomatoes”. About 70% of the volumes go to the UK.

EU imports of fresh tomato

Monthly import volumes between November 2024 and May 2025 (red line) show identical figures with last year (green line) around 650,000 tons and slightly above 5Years average (blue line) of 600,000 tons, as shown on the second graph on “Cumulated imports of fresh tomatoes”. Annual imports of fresh tomato in Europe reached 835,000 tons in 2024, just 3,5% higher then 2023. EU imports still grow but I at a much lower level.
