Spain, official recognition of strawberry assoc.

The inter-professional association “Interfresa” joins together the strawberry industry of the Spanish province of Huelva (Andalusia), with the aim of improving competitiveness and expertise. The local organizations and unions Asaja, COAG, UPA, Faeca y Freshuelva are represented in the association, which has been recently accredited by the Andalusian government.
The association will have the faculty of withdrawing the product form the market, as well as supporting research and promotion.
Andaulusia’s Agricultural councillor Isaías Pérez Saldaña highlighted that “after this recognition, the Interprofessional Organization of the Andalusian Strawberry ‘Interfresa’ will be a fundamental tool for the industry rights’ defence, by establishing the future strategies of the strawberry sector”.
