Future bright for table grapes

Australia
Tuesday 13 January 2009

Australia's largest table grape producer is expecting a very good season, with a 50 to 75 per cent increase on last year's harvest.

Grape Exchange Farming in Menindee is operating on 100 per cent high security water allocations with no restrictions.
Menindee farm manger, Richard Unsworth, says problems with water salinity have also seemed to be resolved.
"For the previous five years it was hard work here, but this year the salinity's been excellent, down below 500 EC on all farms," he says.
