A promotional campaign in three European markets has been kicked off by ProHass, the association of producers of Hass avocados from Peru. The campaign will run in France, the UK and Germany.
The objective is to increase daily consumption of Peruvian avocados by highlighting the convenience and fun of the fruit and its health benefits. The avocado contains 11 of the 13 known vitamins,
and half a avocado provides only 137 calories. It has almost 12 times more monounsaturated fatty acids (or "good cholesterol") as salmon.
Tips for ripening the fruit and many recipes are available on "délicieuxavocats.fr". Distribution of brochures and tastings are scheduled at points of sale.
