Spain is settled on the 1st place of the world classification of fruit and vegetables exports.
Spain occupies the 1st place in the world classification of fruits and vegetables exports.
According to the FAO data for 2007, Spain is leading with a market share of 9 % of the total. It is followed by the Netherlands (7 %) and the United States (6 %).
In 2007, Spain exported 9,1 million tons of fruit and vegetables, the Netherlands 7,3 million tons and the United States 6,4 millions tons.
Then we find China (4th) with 6,1 million tons, Ecuador (5th) with 5,6 million tons. Then Mexico, with 5 million tons, Chile with 4,3 million tons, France with 4,1 million tons, Belgium with 4 million tons and Costa Rica with 3,9 million tons.
Tomatoes are vegetables the most exported with 880 630 tons.
For fruits, the most exported are mandarins with 1,6 million tons.
