The second largest Swiss retailer Coop made in 2008, a record result.
The retail sales climbed by 15.1 percent to 18.1 billion swiss francs.
This is mainly thanks to the acquisition of 12 Carrefour centers in April.
Coop moves as the market leader Migros ever closer to those in 2007, retail sales of 18.5 billion reached on last Friday.
Coop speaks of an "extraordinarily good result," especially against the background of economic slowdown in the second half.
Coops 2007 sales grew 7.1 percent, 2006 by 4.6 percent and 2005 at 0.6 percent.
