Thursday 29 January 2009
Anecoop has recently invested 200,000 euros in enlarging and improving its installations in Prague.
Commercialisation of Anecoop’s fruit and vegetable products in the area comprising the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia has shown strong growth in the last few years.
Turnover of 9.5m euros in the 2000-2001 campaign almost doubled to reach 18m euros by the 2007-2008 campaign. This figure represented a 19% increase on the campaign of the previous year, with some 25,000 tonnes of fruit, vegetables and wine sold.
According to the director of Anecoop in Prague, Ferrán Cabrera, “Anecoop anticipates continued strong growth in Eastern Europe, leading to commercialisation of 100,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables by the year 2013”.
Anecoop also plans to build new commercial platforms in other countries of strategic interest to the international fresh fruit and vegetable market, including Romania and Bulgaria.
