Bel’Export showcased its range of fruits and new packaging at Fruit Logistica

What started as a small fruit company in the heart of Haspengouw in Belgium has grown into dynamic exporter selling to 20 countries plus.
“Bel’Export was founded in 1994 and is part of the Derwael fruit growing company, established by Henri Derwael in 1922”, - explains Jos Derwael, owner of Bel’Export and adds: “We have a lot of experience and expertise in growing. We focus on innovative techniques and technologies and attach great importance to quality. We guarantee our customers the best service for the cultivation, harvesting, sorting, storage, packaging and transportation of high-quality fruit and vegetable varieties”.
Bel’Export sells pears (Conference, Corina, Doyenné du Comice, Durondeau, Dicolor, Beurré Alexander Lucas), apples (Jonagold, Jonagored, Red Prince, Zari, Belle de Boskoop, Golden Delicious, Elstar, Gala, Braeburn, Fuji, Cox’s Orange Pippin), as well as strawberries and cherries. Pears and apples are usually available till July-August, while strawberries are sold beginning of May in Belgium and Scandinavia. The company offers different packaging: carton, plastic and wooden boxes, loose, bags and others
Under the Bel’ de Looz label the company exports fruits and vegetables to Western and Eastern Europe: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, United Kingdom, Ireland, Poland, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Greece, Cyprus, India, Saudi Arabia, Asia, Canary Islands and others. Bel’Export has GLOBALG.A.P., HACCP, BRC GA, IFS HL and QS certificates.
Mr. Derwael shares that every year they visit Fruit Logistica mainly to meet existing customer, but always open for new contacts.
Simon Wouters, respobsible for sales, represented company’s 4th generation at Fruit Logistica. Together with Kevin, Lowie, William and Dieter Derwael there are 5 representatives of 4th generation working in Bel’Export.
