Japan is the N°1 importer of Taiwanese fruits

In Taiwan, local media announce that Japan in 2022 has become the No. 1 importer of Taiwanese fruit, overtaking China. Taiwanese fruit exports to Japan reached USD 850 million, up 11% from the previous year, accounting for 46% of total exports.

 

Japan therefore overtakes China, which was for a long time the main importer of Taiwanese fruit. Prior to the 2021 Chinese embargo on Taiwanese fruit, the Chinese market accounted for 80% of total Taiwanese fruit exports. In 2022 the Chinese market represented only 1.6% of Taiwanese exports.
