Kiwi exports decreased by 38%

According to the latest harvest report presented by the Chilean Kiwi Committee, until week 17, kiwi exports reached 15.175 tons, which is 38% less than what was exported on the same date in the 2020/21 season.
The Hayward variety constitutes 87% of the volume and the rest corresponds to Dori, Green Light and Soreli.
The main destination of Chilean kiwifruit is North America with the reception of 5.343 tons, reflecting a decrease of -6% compared to the same date in 2021. Other destinations: Latin America with 3.842 tons and a decrease of -26%; Europe with 2.932 tons and a drop of -64%; Far East with 2.126 tons, and a decrease of -43%.
This year, the Committee has forecast shipments of 155.000 tons, highlighting this season as challenging.
