US Watermelon Retail Merchandising Contest starts
The National Watermelon Promotion Board (NWPB) holds the 12th annual Watermelon Retail Merchandising Contest in the USA that is used to encourage and identify retailers who are showcasing watermelon’s benefits. All retail chains, independent retailers and commissaries are invites to submit entries. The 2020 contest focus on a watermelon merchandising that includes displays and also encourages mixed marketing tactics. The contest starts in July to honor National Watermelon Month and run throughout the month of August.
Juliemar Rosado, Director of Retail and International Marketing for the NWPB shares: “Total marketing efforts are more important as consumer habits change and the retail space changes with it. We are looking at overall promotional efforts at retail during the customer’s path-to-purchase as well as inside the store.”
More than $10,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the top entrants.
To enter a promotion, retailers can submit their entry and photos, screenshots, links etc. by email or postal mail starting July 8, 2020 until midnight EST on September 9, 2020.
The National Watermelon Promotion Board was established as an agricultural promotion group to promote watermelon in the United States and in various markets abroad. NWPB mission is to increase consumer demand for watermelon through promotion, research and education programs.
