Exports fall in volume but not in value

In October, Spanish exports of fruits and vegetables were down by 3% in volume ( 804,184 tonnes) but the value increased by 7% ( EUR 724.2 million ) , according to data from the Directorate General Customs, published by FEPEX .
This decline in volumes export comes from the 11% decline (313 571 tonnes ) recorded on vegetables , including tomatoes -41%and cucumbers -13% . Yet overall, the vegetable export value increased in October 2014 compared to October 2013 of 1.7% (255 million euros) .
Fruit exports recorded +2% in volume ( 490,613 tons) and +11% in value ( 469 million euros).
