Peru strenghtens its position as leader in bio-bananas

Peru strengthened in previous 5 years its position as worldwide leader in production and deliveries of bio-bananas.

 

 

Export of Peruvian organic bananas increased to 78.000 tons in 2008.

 

 

In year 2003 it was only 18.000 tons.

 

 

Value of export in previous year was US$45,5 million. 

 

 

60% of organic bananas from Peru is shipped to European Community.
