Annual apple consumption in The UK has increased by 12 percent over the last five years according to Euromonitor data.
According to the figures, Britons consume 14.1 kg of apples each per year. While consumption in the home appears to be relatively stable, much of the rise is down to increased apple consumption outside the home.
Apples are the UK's leading fruit by value, with 2004 sales of almost EUR 1 billion.
