This year's theme "Markets: close to your heart" puts even more emphasis on the campaign's logo.
The Love Your Local Market (LYLM) Global Campaign is an annual event celebrating the wholesale and retail markets. The event takes place in May, supported and coordinated by WUWM (World Union of Wholesale Markets).
In 2017, more than 3,000 markets in 17 countries participated in the campaign. This year's theme is "Markets: close to your heart" which emphasizes the proximity of markets in terms of location, personal contact with merchants, products.
The campaign focuses primarily on social media to encourage consumers to actively talk about their local market. With this, merchants must also be active in social media with their customers and make use of this campaign to apply special offers, discounts, etc. As well as organize activities (cooking workshops, exhibitions, crafts ...) during the campaign to create a friendly atmosphere.
