Direct from Fruit Logistica: cool-down of the attendance on the first day

Fruit Logistica has opened its door wednesday with difficulties.

The weather in Germany has been a problem already the tuesday for most professionnals who join the world event for fruit and vegeteables. Strong winds and lots of snow has delayed most flights arriving at Berlin Tegel and Berlin Schonefeld. Many flights forecacasted to land after 9.00 pm were routed to other airports, obliging professionnals to find other alternatives to come to Berlin.

On the opening day, the attendance has been slow in comparison of the last year.

Is that an effect of the challenging times ?

A consequence of the bad weather here in Berlin ?

Some exhibitors wished they have not signed last year, right after the show, to book their 2010 space, as the economy has not been better during that time.

We will certainly have a better answer at the end of the show.
