Peru forecasts lower mango exports for the 2025/2026 season

The first exports this season will come from the Ataulfo, Edward and Kent varieties.
Peru is expected to ship around 240,000 tonnes of fresh mango in the 2025/2026 season, a drop of about 15% compared with last year’s record 280,000 tonnes, according to Iván Vílchez Peralta, president of the Peruvian Association of Mango Producers and Exporters (APEM). Despite the smaller crop, he anticipates good fruit quality and calibres that could help maintain stronger prices.
The first exports this season will come from the Ataulfo, Edward and Kent varieties, with volumes picking up in weeks 48–49 and the main harvest peak expected in January.
The United States and Europe will continue to take about 90% of Peru’s mango shipments, while the sector also works to strengthen its position in Latin America and expand access to Asian markets such as South Korea, Japan and China.
