5.8% increase in Chilean fruit exports

According to data from the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association (ASOEX), in the current 2021/22 fruit export season, Chile has exported 526,978 tons, which is 5.8% higher than that exported in the same period of the 2020/21 season.
The main destination of these supplies this season is the Far East, with the reception of 172,928 tons of fruit, constituting 33% of the total shipments, and showing a decrease of -15.52% compared to the previous year. The United States is the second largest recipient, receiving 148,807 tons, with a 28% share and an increase of 56%. Latin America ranked third with 107,667 tons, a 20% share and a 10% increase. Europe is in fourth place, with 91,939 tons, a 17% share and a 24% increase.
Other destinations: Canada with 4,597 tons (-25.1%); and the Middle East with 1,040 tons (+152%).
The main fruits shipped to date are cherries (166,722 tons), avocados (90,992 tons), apples (87,868 tons), blueberries (34,026), table grapes (3,893).
