Peru sees decline in whole paprika shipments during 2025

Despite lower shipments, the product continued to be supplied to a wide range of markets across the Americas and Europe.
Peru’s exports of whole paprika declined in 2025, reflecting lower volumes and weaker average prices compared with the previous year, according to Agrodata.
Total export value reached US$102.0 million FOB in 2025, down from US$136.5 million in 2024. Export volumes also eased, falling to 35,766 tonnes, compared with 37,091 tonnes a year earlier. The average export price dropped to US$2.85 per kilo, versus US$3.68 per kilo in 2024.
In terms of destination markets, Mexico remained the main buyer of Peruvian whole paprika in 2025, accounting for 55% of total export value. The United States followed with 33%, while Spain represented 9%. Smaller volumes were shipped to Guatemala, Argentina, Germany, and other destinations, each accounting for around 1% or less of total value.
